Lenwade

The church: St Faith

  • This little building was a Victorian "Mission Church". Sadly, despite its location in the centre of our busiest village, it was little used and the mounting maintenance costs were beyond the reach of the parish. The church is now officially closed, and the building will shortly be marketed for residential conversion. All proceeds from the sale will be returned to the residual owner, on whose behalf the Rector is an administrative trustee.

The village

  • The parish of Great Witchingham includes the hamlet of Lenwade, and the area is known by both names.
  • There are many facilities in Lenwade, including The Bridge public house, the Lenwade Country House Hotel, a newsagent, baker, post office, butcher, petrol station & garage, hairdresser and fish-and-chip shop.
  • There is a total population of around 470 when combined with Lenwade.
