A few miles north-west of Norwich, in the beautiful county of Norfolk, the villages of the Wensum Group form part of the Sparham Deanery in the Diocese of Norwich. We worship God and support our community within the framework of the Church of England.
There are nine churches, six of which are actively used for worship, and eight of which are medieval, each with its own character in the community. The population is small, with around 1,400 people resident across the whole benefice; the largest village houses around 470 people, the smallest just 10.
At the heart of our life is the Eucharist, together with the Word of God as revealed in the Bible. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God in the words of men and women. This combined understanding of the Eucharist as the eternal Word of God under the appearance of bread and wine, and of the Bible as the eternal Word of God under the appearance of human words, is at the core of our corporate worship.
We hope this website will give you an insight into life in our community: the landscape and the buildings, the history and life today, acts of worship and social events - in fact, all things sacred and secular that make up our life in this lovely place.

Gracious Father, we pray for your Church.
Fill it with your truth, and keep it in your peace.
Where it is corrupt, purge it;
where it is in error, direct it;
where it is right, strengthen and confirm it;
where it needs help, provide for it;
where it is divided, heal it,
and unite it in your love,
through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
